Teenager's iPod goes boom
A young lad down the road from us had his ipod go through the wash and while he performed emergency surgery it blew up on him - burned a hole in his bed!
Maybe it's time to do your own washing young fella!?
Well it's all changing. I don't know, random ephemera I guess.

Or - get rid of it all together. A student refused to hand over his iPod a few weeks ago - result is a 10-day suspension. I guess that would be enough time for him to learn how to do laundry.
This was punishment for not doing what he was told, or for having an ipod? Perhaps I'm a soft touch, but does 10 days sound a little extreme?
I like you blog Fred.
Combination of both. His offense was magnified by disobeying an assistant prrincipal - minimum five days right there. I suspect there were some other things in his file that they decided warranted the full 10 days.
Well I must be a soft touch in the extreme - I actually allow ipods in my classroom when students are working individually - with a psychology background and in teaching psych i am aware that some students actually work better with the additional stimulus. Our kids at present get suspended for wearing any make-up: a new rule introduced this term (see recent news articles). Obviously someone 'up there' thinks make-up is more distracting than ipods. I actually think that the zits are more distracting when uncovered!
Anyway - ipods rock!!! - just ask my son who wouldn't get any homework done without his.

I have a similar website tied to zits Come by some time.
I absolutely fancy your website, It's bookmarked! This information is fine stuff.
